Today's Friday Forum is guided by the following two beliefs:
1. We women are too hard on ourselves. We feel we aren't pretty enough, accomplished enough, or creative enough. We compare our individual attributes and talents to the collective attributes and talents of other women. We don't give ourselves enough credit. Period.
2. There is no such thing as bragging when you're with family. And this is your Bloom family.
So.
We want to know, what are you good at?
Take a minute and really think about it. Don't be shy. Don't feel silly. Tell us something you love about yourself or a talent you've developed or a difficulty you've overcome or a personal trait you are really pleased with.
Then spend the rest of your day loving yourself.
Happy Friday!
We love you!

I love the Cassatt painting and the post! My blog is a little place for me to showcase what I love and what I feel I am good at creating - please stop by:)

I'm good at making people feel good about themselves; pointing out the greatness in them.
I'm good at researching; when anyone I know is in need of info I'm always right on it.
I'm good at organizing OTHER people's homes (but not so good at seeing how I can organize my own home).
I'm NOT good at leaving short comments ;o)
I like this a lot. I'm good at having fun. Thanks for asking. I AM going to spend all day loving myself.
I am good at being a mom. I am good at my job. I am good at being creative.
I am good at making myself feel guilty :)
As I'm getting middle aged, I realize how important it is as women to let go and be everything we ARE, instead of what we think we should be to fit in.
So what I'm saying is, I'm starting to get really good at being just me.
I'm really good at doing anything I set my mind to, though I wasn't always aware of this. When I was about 20, my bro became and Eagle Scout and I decided to make a cake for him that looked like the scout emblem. My family scoffed at me (having never delved into anything even remotely artistic), but were aghast when my cake turned out AMAZING! Since then, I try to remind myself that I can seriously do ANYTHING!!! And that makes me happy.
I am a great team player. This has become particularly evident in parts of our marriage. A talent that I am glad that I posess.
I am good at making other people feel at ease and welcome.
I am good at making chocolate chip cookies....one of my proudest accomplishments!
I'm good at writing. I am good at reading, out loud to my kids or quietly to myself. I'm good at encouraging others. I'm good at making tasty meals for my family. I'm good at looking for the positive and funny in just about everything :D
Wow! I feel so much better about myself now. I feel motivated, woohoo!
Thanks!
I am good at love. I have a lot of it in me and I have found that my capacity to love grows the more freely I give it away :)
I am good at making up funny little rhymes and songs for my kids.
I love that I am a lot more flexible than I used to be...still working on it though!
I'm good at putting people first. I have no problem dropping "things" or rearranging my schedule when I feel like I'm needed. I never saw this as a positive character trait until the last couple of years when a friend pointed it out to me.
I'm good at not feeling unnecessary guilt.
I'm a good storyteller.
I'm a great sleeper and wish that I could use this talent much more frequently.
I sing with a local choral group and have for the past 14 years. Recently I was asked to sing in a small group (6 total) of women in the community. How exposed I feel singing in a small group. It is like the dream where you are giving a speech and then realize your are naked as a jay bird.
I decided at 36 years old I should still do things that scare me so that I can learn and grow. I love, love it,...but am still scared.
I'm good at enjoying my life and really appreciating the good moments that happen all the time.
I'm good at pushing myself to achieve new things or difficult goals.
I'm an excellent cook.
I'm good at complimenting others.
I'm good at planning things down to the last detail.
I am good at accepting myself and I'm good at understanding the feelings of toddlers and preschoolers.
Thanks for this, I need to remind myself sometimes that I am good at something even if it's not something others (or I) can SEE everyday.
I am good at teaching kids or adults how to swim. Even the screamers and non-swimmers and those terrified of water. I love it!
I am really good at teaching others to sew. I don't do it professionally, but just by getting together with other mommas and tackling a project together.
I'm good at making chocolate chip cookies.
And I think I'm a pretty good listener, though it takes a careful effort.
And I'm efficient.

I am good at empathizing with others.
I am good at finding humor in stressful situations.
I am good at laughing with my kids, we have fun every day laughing at something silly.
I'm good at loving my husband. I didn't know what kind of wife I'd be (getting married at age 33 to my first boyfriend, not a lot of practice). But, I am an excellent wife and so good at loving my husband the way that he feels love. I love that!
I'm good at other things too...being a stepmom, laundry, making delicious meals, laughing, walking, teaching Seminary, taking photos, writing in my journal, and more.
It's fun to read about what other AMAZING women are good at.
Well, I am AWESOME at organizing, multitasking, and keeping things really clean.
Come by and see me :)

I'm good at organizing EVERYTHING.
I'm good at baking cookies.
I'm good at worrying a lot.
Wow, this is really hard. My husband tells me all the time that I am way too hard on myself. I guess it must be true. So, here I go...I make awesome chocolate chip cookies, I'm good at making jewelry, and I'm good at being sensitive to other's feelings.
I'm good at remembering things. I remember anything people tell me- birthdays, random stories from their childhood, anything. I guess that would make me a good listener, too.
I am good at trying new things. Not so much food wise (although I am getting better) but jumping in to learn a new skill.
I am good at teaching. Although there are days...
I am good at meal planning, and couponing. I consider myself a pretty good cook and can come up with delicious meals with random ingredients without a recipe. I am a good record keeper. I love that I look beautiful in almost every color, especially bright colors. Thanks for making me feel fabulous :)

I, like my sister before me (Sally), am awesome at making chocolate chip cookies (it runs in the family). I am good at reading. I am good at being a friend.
I can't believe how hard it was for me to comment. I kept typing things, and then I'd erase them after convincing myself I wasn't really that good at each thing--others were much better. Sigh. So clearly I needed this post.
I'm good at teaching. I like speaking in public and giving lessons. I just need to put more effort into the lessons I teach my family and not just for others.
I am really good at working out consistently. I am good at ballet and dance.
I'm a really good shopper (even my husband agrees)
I am also very patient. I'm also pretty good at loving myself for exactly who I am!
I'm a good friend and I'm a very strong and fast reader. :) Thanks for the reminder to give myself a break!
