Let us introduce you to Alison Dallon of Everyday Chic whose creativity and resourcefulness caught our eye and won our affection.
Because we love a good entrepreneurial story here at Bloom, we asked Alison to tell us a bit about herself and how she got started with Everyday Chic. In her words, Alison says:
"I’m a stay at home mom of three kids and a wife to an awesome husband who is never around because he’s in his 2nd year of his Emergency Medicine residency. Everyday Chic started about 5 years ago, right after the birth of my first child. I started out sewing aprons and handbags and selling them online and at boutiques and craft shows. In this process, my obsession for designer fabric took hold. However, first and foremost, I love being a mom. And because of that, my business goals have shifted over the past year. I now focus mainly on selling fabrics as well as DIY kits and patterns. Right now, our kits include a women’s full apron, a women's hostess apron and a children’s full apron. We also have a DIY kit for Car Seat Cover Ups and there are several more in the works as I write this. (Including father/son matching ties and dolly diapers). Each kit comes with detailed instructions with tons of pictures, your fabric pieces already cut out, matching thread and any other notions needed. Basically, you’re able to start sewing as soon as you receive your kit in the mail!"
So cool!
And even cooler? Alison is giving away one of her Hostess Apron DIY Kits to a lucky Bloom reader! The kit will contain all the components for an apron like the one pictured above, but the winner will be able to choose a combination of fabrics from Alison's collection. Fun! Here's just a small sampling of what you'll be able to choose from:
Is your heart pitter-pattering at the possibilities? Mine is, and I don't even sew!
Leave a comment to enter. Winner announced Monday morning.
