However, I think it is important when you talk about teaching reading to remember the entire picture. We must remember that reading is not only phonics, but also whole language (reading, writing, language, etc.) I think that when teaching reading we need to incorporate all of language. <br /><br />Over the years the pendulum seems to swing back and forth between phonics and whole language.
